There is a new show on TV that shows US soldiers being reunited with their families. To watch these encounters take place and see the joy of both participants is truly a wonderful sight to witness. Unless you are very heartless , even the manliest man will be laid low , fighting tears and biting ones lip . I know because to watch Dad's and Husbands reunited with their wife's and children or their parents ,stirs something within the human soul.I admit a tear or two.
Why? I think in a real way , to be reconciled to someone who is away is a longing in all our souls . As we get older we understand that death will separate us from loved ones . My mom has been gone for almost 19 years and there is not a day I do not miss her . The reality is there will be many more of these broken relationships when death comes to call and breaks the fellowship of love one has with someone. All of us ,if honest , know that death is not right , that it is a enemy and no matter how one tries to phrase it , we cannot buy into that lie.
So when we see a family restored , a Dad embrace a child or wife , a Mom hug her son , it hits us at the very core of any broken relationships we have and long to have back.
At the very heart of Christianity is the story of reconciliation. The scripture tells us that there is rejoicing in heaven when one sinner repents and trust in Jesus Christ ,who is our redeemer. Just think God the Father , sent the Son , who gave His life on the cross , rose again and by the Holy Spirit , awakes dead sinners to life and its God who seeks, saves and surprises us with His grace. That is the ultimate reconciliation.
May we rejoice and shed tears of joy when we hear of a lost , wandering sinner saved , embraced by God and carried into His everlasting arms.
Verse Of The Day : [10] For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. [11] More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
(Romans 5:10-11 ESV)

That's what it's going to be like, when we see our Lord face to face. As the great hymn says,
"When we all get to Heaven, What a day of rejoicing that will be,
When we all see Jesus, We'll sing and shout the victory."
The war is over. We have victory in Christ's atoning work on the cross. He has called us home. Love you, Mrs Reg
