Quote Sunday

“Some writers may toy with the fancy of a ‘Christ-myth,’ but they do not do so on the ground of historical evidence. The historicity of Christ is as axiomatic for an unbiased historian as the historicity of Julius Caesar. It is not historians who propagate the ‘Christ-myth’ theories.”

Dear readers, I know that to have made the choice to read this blog means you must be very smart, discerning people. Having said that, I am a bibliophile. I love words, the bigger the better. That being said, I had to guess the meaning of two words in this blog. So, to be sure, I googled it. I was right.
So, for the rest of us, "The historicity of Christ is as axiomatic for an unbiased historian as the historicity of Julius Caesar' translates to "The. historical authenticity of Christ is as self evident or unquestionable for an unbiased historian as the historical authenticity of Julius Caesar". Because I'm feeling kind to those of us who haven't had their coffee yet, or English isn't your first language, I give you the following.
There is as much, if not more, proof of the existence of Jesus Christ as there is proof that Julius Caesar existed." Now, I'm going to go get another coffee. See Hon', I did marry you for your brain, too. Love you, Mrs Reg
