Prepare Your Heart and Mind to Hear God's Word

He

As we gather together on Sunday , may we prepare our hearts and minds to hear the word of God. The preacher is to bring the word to the people. He is not preach himself , his experiences but God's word.He is to preach the word in season and out , if is unpopular with popular culture , if it rubs people the wrong way . Gods word proclaimed is the source in which people come to believe. It points to the word made flesh , Jesus Christ. What an awesome blessing it is to open God's word and hear it preached.

Pray for those faithful Pastor's who labor with reverence to get it right .

Verse Of The Day  :    I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: [2] preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.
(2 Timothy 4:1-2 ESV)

Not only should we pray for our Pastors to preach the word, we must also do as the people from Berea did. Search the scriptures to see that what is preached is right.
Galatians 1:6-10 says "I am astonished that you are also quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel, not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ."
These are powerful words, especially, "If I am trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ."
We're very blessed when our pastors preach the word. If all you want is your ears tickled than stay home and watch a televangelist. As Pastor Mark said recently, "Read the manual". Love you, Mrs Reg
