Must Be My Irish Blood

Certain songs always come into my mind when I'm reflecting on life or just thinking about the past . John Denver was always one of my favorite artist growing up . Even when I embraced heavy rock from Zepplin to Iron Maiden , there would be John Denver . His songs just spoke to my heart .

Plus when Dr.James White , one of my favorite reformed baptist theologians , list John Denver as one of his favorite artist , well that seals it.

Today was a strange one . I spent time in quiet thought over many things . How thankful and blessed I'm and sad at the same time thinking of those I can no longer talk to and see . My wife tells me my mood or happy/sad at the same time come from my Irish roots so who am I to argue . So John's song pretty much summed up my head space today.

John Denver -Looking For Space

On the road of experience
I’m trying to find my own way
Sometimes I wish that I could fly away
When I think that I’m moving
Suddenly things stand still
I’m afraid ‘cause I think they always will

And I’m looking for space
And to find out who I am
And I’m looking to know and understand
It’s a sweet sweet dream
Sometimes I’m almost there
Sometimes I fly like an eagle and
Sometimes I’m deep in despair

All alone in the universe
Sometimes that’s how it seems
I get lost in the sadness and the screams
Then I look in the centre
Suddenly everything’s clear
I find myself in the sunshine and my dreams

And I’m looking for space
And to find out who I am
And I’m looking to know and understand
It’s a sweet sweet dream
Sometimes I’m almost there
Sometimes I fly like an eagle and
Sometimes I’m deep in despair

On the road of experience
Join in the living day
If there’s an answer
It’s just that it’s just that way

When you’re looking for space
And to find out who you are
When you’re looking to try and reach the stars
It’s a sweet sweet sweet dream
Sometimes I’m almost there
Sometimes I fly like an eagle and
Sometimes I’m deep in despair
Sometimes I fly like an eagle
Like an eagle, I go flying high, ooh

To all the Irish people out there, don't get your tail feathers in a spin. Odds are I've got a higher percentile of Irish blood than Reg does, or at least equal amounts, so live with it.
Personally, I don't understand all the angst. But, that's just who you are. Sometimes Hon', you've got to stop all that naval gazing because it just means you're looking down at yourself instead of up to Our Lord. Just a thought. Love you, Mrs Reg
