God is Indeed Love , Holy Love That is
One thing we must never divorce is God's absolute holiness from His love. If we make a statement that God is love ,we must make clear in radiates from a character that is perfect ,holy, righteous and that is without blemish . Therefore the love of God is consistent with a burning wrath against all sin and is completely compatible with His love. The love that He has showed is demonstrated perfectly on the cross. When the God the Father , gave the Son and laid the wrath towards our sin upon Him and made Him who knew no sin ,to be sin for us. That is love ,that is grace .
Jesus is the lamb , the Saviour of all who will repent , turn from sin and cling to the promise of the gospel , that Jesus laid down His life for His sheep . What a great love that goes beyond words to describe it . The King of Kings in my place , so that I may be called a child of God . Unbelievable the depths of His mercy and grace.
Verse Of The Day : [8] but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. [9] Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. [10] For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. [11] More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

This is the greatest gift anyone, let alone the Creator, could ever give. When we deny Our Saviour's all sufficient work on the cross and think there is some other way to salvation, we delude ourselves.
Think about it, for a minute. It's a pretty drastic thing for God to do, if it was just optional. Sending His Son, the God/Man Jesus Christ, to live her on earth. He experienced every joy and sorrow that we have, probably even the common cold. Knew temptation but was without sin. Willingly was obedient to the Father, even knowing what was to come. He suffered whippings, mocking and death on a cross, in our rightful place.
Even if we could have taken His place on the cross, it would not be enough to gain entrance in to Heaven. Only a perfect sacrifice, without blemish, could accomplish such an act. Praise be to God He was resurrected, ascended into Heaven and sits at the right hand of God.
Yet some how, I'm going with sinful nature, we think this is all optional? He said to Nicodemeus in John 3, "You must be born again." He didn't say, " if you feel like it or if the works for you."
We don't deserve such perfect love and sacrifice. Yet, there was no other way for God to be both Holy and just. Think this is over kill? Think that we're not really that bad and God is love and will let us in anyway? Guess again. Don't believe me? Then read Romans and brace yourself for the reality of what we humans are really like, in the eyes of God. Love you, Mrs Reg
