“If you believe in Christ, you have to believe in demons"

The title is from new a horror movie called The Last Exorcism. It is basically about a preacher who is more of a con man than true believer . He is called to perform this exorcism and since he truly believes this is all baloney anyway , he figures he will take the money and run. Needless to say , he encounters real evil , a real demonic possession and in turn , apparently finds his faith as well.

I have not seen this film , so the info I got is from reviews , but the tag line really made me pay attention. It is so true. If one confesses he believes in God of the Bible , then one must hold to not an abstract idea of evil but a real evil. One that is present physically in the form of Satan and his demons.

In the west with all our technology and comforts ,we have seemed to have forgotten about Satan . Its almost like he is a afterthought . But he is real . He is a clear enemy of the gospel . Sure he is presented in media , be it film or music ,but often they are so over the top we do not take it serious . The same for his fallen angels . He has at his command demons .

Over the next couple of days , I want to look into the abyss of evil from a biblical view.To understand your enemy , is to know how not to fall into his deceptions. If you are in Christ , we need not fear but Lucifer is a real enemy . May we stand firm .

That's movie's a scary thought. But, compared to standing before a Holy and righteous God and having to give an account of your life, the movie sounds a whole lot less frightening. Even the secret things will be judged, the good and the bad things.
Evil is real. The devil is scary. But, there is one thing we must all keep in mind, as it says in Job 1:6-12 "Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. The Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.” And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?” Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for no reason? Have you not put a hedge around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But stretch out your hand and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.” And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord."
When we say that God is sovereign over all things, we mean Satan as well. Nothing happens that God does not allow.
I could go on but I might touch on a lot of your topics. So, I'll stop here.
Love you, Mrs Reg
