Preacher Feature
It is grace at the beginning, and grace at the end. So that when you and I come to lie upon our death beds, the one thing that should comfort and help and strengthen us there is the thing that helped us in the beginning. Not what we have been, not what we have done, but the Grace of God in Jesus Christ our Lord. The Christian life starts with grace, it must continue with grace, it ends with grace. Grace wondrous grace. By the grace of God I am what I am. Yet not I, but the Grace of God which was with me.

When I look upon my misdeeds, I am fully aware that it is all about grace. We're just talking about the ones that I haven't tried to justify, just plain ignored or shrugged off.
Just the concept of grace alone is mind boggling. It is only our sinful nature that tries to make a small god, in our own image, thinking we're good enough to get there simply because we deserve to be there.
What folly. I guess since we acknowledge that He exists (how lucky for God)that should be good enough, right? Well, even the demons acknowledge who He is but they also tremble in fear.
Here's what one of them said, when confronted by Jesus in Matthew 8:28-34, "And when he came to the other side, to the country of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men met him, coming out of the tombs, so fierce that no one could pass that way. And behold, they cried out, “What have you to do with us, O Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?” Now a herd of many pigs was feeding at some distance from them. And the demons begged him, saying, “If you cast us out, send us away into the herd of pigs.” And he said to them, “Go.” So they came out and went into the pigs, and behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the waters. The herdsmen fled, and going into the city they told everything, especially what had happened to the demon-possessed men. And behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus, and when they saw him, they begged him to leave their region."
It is most interesting people's reactions, as well. Instead of rejoicing that these men were well, it was "Get out." Mind you, it would be pretty mind boggling when you think about it. These demon possessed men were so fearsome no on could pass. All of sudden this man comes along and sends these demons into pigs who go rushing off, over the cliff. I can see how thatt would be a little frightening.
May we be eternally grateful for God's grace. Don't delude yourself, not one of us deserves it. Love you, Mrs Reg
