Looking To The Cross

I do not know when I am more perfectly happy than when I am weeping for sin at the foot of the cross.
Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Verse Of The Day :  [18] For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
(1 Corinthians 1:18 ESV)

I find, as we're in Holy week, that I am really meditating on what the Lord did for us. It kind of boggles the mind, doesn't it? He could have said, "that's enough of you" and destroyed all of Creation and started again (or not).
We should really get over the notion that God needs us. He doesn't. He is perfectly complete without us. The next time you ask, "How could a good God allow bad things to happen to good people?", just remember there was only one perfect person who ever lived. He went willingly, in complete obedience to the Father, to the cross for a wretched sinner such as I. If that doesn't amaze you, nothing of any value will. Love you, Mrs Reg
