Bin Laden Dead - After a covert strike , Bin laden has been killed. Many Christian blogs have written with more eloquence than I could ever dream of but for what its worth , I will not fail to get to sleep tonight because he is dead. He pursued a life of evil , fueled by hatred and no regard for women or children. Jesus said all who live by the sword will die by the sword. So it has been fulfilled. He showed no remorse,no repentance and hid behind his wealth and the common people. We may not take delight in the death of the wicked as a Christian but at the same time God does allow the government to wield its sword for justice and I think its been done.
Canada's Election - Its too early to call a majority for the Conservatives , but they will at least hold. In my riding the incumbent Liberal held the seat but with a much slimmer margin of victory. I think he is useless and would make a good snake oil salesmen. From all the normal everyday people I talked to , they wondered if he still lives in the riding. He is invisible. The Conservative candidate was someone I have known for 20 years. Some people can't stand him but I figure I'm in good company for many don't like me. But what is sickening , I know this man could sit down with my Dad ,just a simple man , and have a beer or coffee. Not Mr slick. Young people probably drove the win. I'm sorry but the youth today remind me of the hippies of the 60's , clueless. Next time I will help campaign for a conservative win.
Hockey Refereeing - This year it has been the worst I have ever witnessed . Inconsistent and very weak as far as I can see. It must be great to have a job that you can be indecisive and incompetent and still have a job.Need to get me one of those.
The Last Word - I'm thankful in all my grumpiness at times , my struggles with sin and knowing my heart , its want to wander , that in Christ I'm hidden . It will never be my effort , my works or my ability that secures me , but my faith alone in an all sufficient Saviour . To God alone be the glory.
Verse Of The Day : [23] For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 6:23 ESV)

I thank God for the brave soldiers who went in and did what had to be done. I am thankful, also, for our good neighbours to the south. I know that, if anything tragic ever happened here, they'd be on our doorstep with a helping hand, before you could blink. Thank you for being who you are, a great neighbour.
I think the job of the governing authorities is not an easy one. Everybody growls about something. However, we've seen that God has allowed justice to be wrought and no one is exempt. We're subject to the governing authorities, unless to do so would violate God's law.
Romans 13:1-5 says, "Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for she is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience."
Finally, don't hold back about your opinion of our local incumbent. I can't quite figure out your issue with him. Is it that you just don't like his hair? HA HA!!
Now Hon', you now you're never happy unless you feel you have something genuinely worthy of growling about. Despite evidence to the contrary, dear readers, he's really a sweet, loving and fun husband. He's just very Irish. So am I. Our poor children, though nothing a good growl can't fix. Love you, Mrs Reg
