I absolutely love this hymn . This is an abbreviated performance but this mans voice is just , epic . May we rejoice that the Lamb of God laid down His life that we may be forgiven and reconciled .
[7] In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.
(Ephesians 1:7 ESV)
There is a Fountain by William Cowper (1731-1800)
- There is a fountain filled with blood,
Drawn from Immanuel’s veins,
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains. - The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in His day;
And there have I, though vile as he,
Washed all my sins away. - Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood
Shall never lose its pow’r,
Till all the ransomed church of God
Are safe, to sin no more. - E’er since by faith I saw the stream
Thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die. - When this poor, lisping, stamm’ring tongue
Lies silent in the grave,
Then in a nobler, sweeter song,
I’ll sing Thy pow’r to save.

I cannot carry a tune in a bucket. When I hear someone sing nicely, I'm impressed and a little envious. When they sing with enough joy and passion, to touch your heart, I'm blown away. I wonder if William Cowper ever imagined his song would still be song, over 200 years later, and be loved as much as it is. The words are still as relevant and true today as when the penitent thief first heard and saw the Good News, 2000 years ago. Love you, Mrs Reg
