If you are a Baptist of good standing , then you should know of Charles Haddon Spurgeon . The most famous baptist minister the world has ever known. He was born 1834 and died 1892. His influence by way of his sermons and writing still carries weight for those who call themselves true evangelical believers .
But this is not about him. It is about his wife ,Susanna Spurgeon. A remarkable woman of faith and a true warrior for Christ. Her life was one of much suffering .After the birth of twin boys ,Thomas and Charles , she was very sick and although she would recover , the rest of her life she was often sick or unable to hear her husband preach because of her health. She still was a faithful wife in her encouragement to Charles, instructed the boys well , set up a book fund for poor pastors and by all accounts she was a very faithful friend of others and served Jesus and the cause of the gospel mightily.
My point is that in her weakness , she was used by God . Irregardless how weak or insignificant we feel because of health or intellect, in Christ we can be used .
May we realize that God takes the lowly, the unseen and builds a kingdom that the gates of hell will never prevail against .
[30] If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.
(2 Corinthians 11:30 ESV)
[9] But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. [10] For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
(2 Corinthians 12:9-10 ESV)

Thanks, Honey. I needed to read this one, this morning. Sometimes I'm very frustrated with my seizures. Especially, when I get up and get ready and then they hit. No matter how much you want to do something or go somewhere, you're not. But, I thank the good Lord for computers and the World Wide Web. I shall watch the sermon, later this week. Mrs Spurgeon would have marveled, at the technology. Love you, Mrs Reg
