Living in the valley of NS has upsides and downsides. The one thing I really do not enjoy is the hot humid weather. I enjoy the sun but once it gets above 25 c , with a humidex and we just don't see eye to eye .
Even when I was younger I would have lots of headaches in summer . Not really migraines , but they were intense at times. So now our house is running at any given time 3 air conditioners. Yes they do cost but the comfort they bring and for my wife , who suffers from a seizure disorder triggered by this type of weather , they bring some normalcy.
Reading a piece online today that talked about how to get around using a air conditioner made me chuckle . All the the suggestions were good , and will help keep the house cooler but in this heat , it would be marginal. Then it had to throw in the whole , do your thing for the environment. Hey I'm all for being a good steward when dealing with the earth ,but if it brings some sense of relief to those who have conditions that can be triggered due to this heat , all I can say is , crank it up .
Bottom line , I find it so annoying when people get on their soapbox about the environment . For many it is a new religion , a new fundamentalism. I love God's creation . It is wonderful, amazing and needs to be protected and taken care of but at the same time, if having an air conditioner benefits someone from not getting migraines , seizures etc... then all I have to say to those who object , go hug a tree . I'm sure you can find one with your name on it .

You're so funny, go hug a tree with your name on it, ha ha. Apparently, loving the created more than the Creator is okay. Oopsy, Roman 1:25, "who exchanged the truth of God for the lie,and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen." I found all these so called "new green ideas" are just stuff I learned from my frugal Grandmothers. Mom's Mom had 8 children survive to adulthood. You reduced, reused and recycled or you went without. Don't be wasteful. It came in handy, growing up, because Dad was a minister. Like that column in the newspaper called "Life in the Cheap Lane". What did your Mama teach you, nothing? So Honey, how's your carbon footprint (tee hee)? Love you, Mrs Reg
