Preparing Your Heart For Sunday

Calvin's Pulpit

As Sunday morning soon dawns , where is your heart? As a Christian we need to truly understand the weight of the Christian sabbath or Lord's day. Each Sunday we gather, it witnesses to the world that Christ is risen. That was the most significant change . A primary Jewish group of  believers , accustomed to sabbath keeping moved their worship to Sunday . Understanding that in the truth of the resurrection , something new had begun . That God had started a new beginning , a new covenant had come .  That was a huge move.

So when we gather this Sunday, hear the word preached , have the sacraments administered , we proclaim the Lord's death and resurrection till He comes again.

So prepare you heart . Spend time in the word , pray , get up early enough so things are not rushed , enter into your Church with God's awesome holiness in mind . Know that the Holy Spirit is present , angels are watching and Jesus will be proclaimed , as Lord of Lords and King of Kings .

Worship is amazing act that God calls us to enjoy His presence . May we understand what we do when we enter His house .

[28] Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,
(Hebrews 12:28 ESV)

Looking forward to this morning. Glad the boys are going, as well. I haven't been, in so long, and I miss it. Silly seizures. Thankfully, I have my Table Talk. But, it's not quite the same and they don't have a Sunday devotional because Church is where we're supposed to be. Love you, Mrs Reg
