But in general alcohol was drank by believers throughout the ages . It has only been in the last 150 years that it has become an issue. Granted it is clear in scripture that one is not to be drunk or abuse alcohol (just read Proverbs) but wine was part of the beverage of Old and New Testament times . Martin Luther was known to be a good beer master.
Even in Baptist circles who love the great Charles Haddon Spurgeon ,have to admit he did drink beer until under personal conviction gave it up. That is what it boils down to for me . I do not flaunt my freedom and I'm very respectful around those who have struggled or have a weak conscience but I still enjoy a cold one .
So that is my 2 cents worth . Its just a simple view , nothing exhausting but like I said , the bible is silent and if you want to force it to say it does , then you need to re-look at the way one interprets scripture.

When you think 2 beers is a wild night, I don't think you have to worry. It just isn't your temptation. But, if it is, than you should refrain. I know that I have to be very vigilant. Not because I like getting drunk but because I'm fussy about what I drink and I like the taste. Same reason that cake and cookies are kept in moderation and very rarely in the house. Now, if I could just do something about those chips that keeping sneaking into the house...I have no will power when it comes to the Wavy Lays. Love you, Mrs Reg
