Hard To Fathom

[8] And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
(Philippians 2:8 ESV)

The truth of Christmas is that God , clothed Himself in human flesh . Born of the virgin , in a lowly state . No fanfare, in terms of worldly pronouncements . When Jesus was born ,the eternal Son of God , He humbled Himself .This is hard to grasp. That the King of all the universe would come and not only leave His glorious throne , but come to die on a cross . For who? The worse of the worse , sinners like me.

When I see my sin and know that the holy , perfect Son had to come and die so that I may be forgiven , it leaves me humbled and speechless.

Why do you think I look at people, like they have 3 heads, when they growl about Christmas? On a funnier note, I had a client in the other day. Lovely lady. She was telling me a bout a party she'd been to, the week before. Some man started growling about how much he hated how commercial Christmas had become. so, she said, "She loved it. Everything about it."
Sometimes, I think people make those pronouncements to make themselves seem less greedy and so they can tighten their wallets. It's not that you're giving gifts to yourself, you're giving them to other people. After all, as you said, God Himself gave us the ultimate gift of His Son.
If all this gift giving bothers you because you and everybody you know has way too much. Stop, be thankful, and give generously to well deserving charities. They're way too many starving people in the world for you to do otherwise. Love you, Mrs Reg
