Bowled Over

So the biggest sports event on the earth is soon to dawn on us,the Super Bowl. No question it is hands down the most unique of all championships. The commercials themselves at half time are worth tuning into. They  are creative and fun.

But this year one is causing much controversy and has some liberal groups in a fit. Plus it has nothing to do about sex. Focus on the Family , an Evangelical ministry , has bought time to air a pro life spot featuring Tim Tebrow , a former all-star quarterback for the Florida Gators. All through his college career he has been a very out spoken Christian .

The add features the fact how his mom was told that perhaps the baby would not make it to term or if the baby did , he or she would be severely sick. Needless to say Tebrow's parents , devout believers put their trust in God. Needless to say the rest is history.

So out of the wood work come abortion right advocates ,planned parenthood and even gay advocacy figures saying that CBS should not be airing this religious and political message. They are mad.

But here is the thing that gets me. Its less than a minute , tastefully done and is not overtly preachy. So why the fuss. We have free speech . During the regular week of TV scheduling we have shows that preach a world view contrary to a biblical one. It promotes free sex, pro-choice , homosexuality as normal , usually pokes fun at Christianity , well you get the picture. So why are they so mad ? Truth . Plain and simple when darkness is exposed to light it recoils and will show its evil .

Abortion is an evil . It is murder and it is wrong. We are amazingly and wonderfully made. God is the author of life . If this commercial saves even one child , then it has done a great thing.

Psalm 139:13
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
