So we have established the content of Jello is really no content of all . The nutritional value of Jello is nil . Its what one would call empty calories.
The next rather cool thing with Jello is the ability to shape it into any form . When its mixed you can pour it into a mold and have become a star,circle,square etc.. Pretty much any shape you wish .
The final cool thing with this jiggly goodness is the fact you can add stuff to it . While its setting one can add fruits or candy ( gummy bears work well) . It is really flexible and who can resist.
Theses things are great for Jello . Its what makes it cool . But when it comes to the matter of God , I think most people who say they believe in God really all they have is a Jello God. If you can trust the statistics , very few in the western hemisphere label themselves hardcore Atheist .The vast majority label themselves if not Christian , at least a God believer.
However belief in a "god" is far from knowing God . Most will say God is love , God is good etc... but in general its a fuzzy , muddy picture with no distinct characteristics. If pressed the "god" of the masses is a Jello deity .
It has no content . All its attributes are vague and general . They say its love and good but from what source do they get this info. Borrowed mostly from the Judeo-Christian culture they have been brought up in. It can do nothing to nourish the soul .
Their Jello Deity is malleable as well . If you do not want a wrathful one , its all love, if you have particular sin you are in love with , then it demands no repentance but acceptance . You create it in an image that fits your felt need . Shaping it into whatever fancy you need . At funerals its the all accepting deity , no one is in hell , well except Hitler and those types. If you are doing well it because you have a Santa shaped deity . You are the master of your own deity . Just like the Israelites that fashioned the golden calf , you create an image of the "god" you want to worship . The Jello God becomes a one size fits all.
The last is the mixture deity. These are those who take a blender and through in all sorts of confused teachings to make them feel comfortable . They add a little bit of nature , all is "god" or they throw any idea of truth out the window and say all paths lead to this Jello "god" . God becomes a blending of every selective , cheery picking feature you like . One modern version of this is the very popular book The Shack . The "god" in that book is a blending of all three traits. No substance,many shapes and a mixture of some strange views of God all to fit what we would like God to be .
Ultimately this Jello god is nothing more than man exchanging the truth for a lie and worshiping the creature rather than the Creator (Romans 1) . We don't like a God that exposes our sinfulness , or wretchedness . We want one that will slap us on the back and go , its all good. Your not that bad . Relax and just be spiritual.
But we are not in the dark about God . His word reveals who He is , what He has done and will do. The word reveals a God that is holy,perfect ,without blemish . One who created all things for His glory , one who is full of wrath against all sin , one who will judge man for our cosmic treason . But it also reveals a God that is love , in His compassion ,His mercy,His grace . That God is triune , three in One , Father,Son and Holy Spirit.
Plus astonishingly God became flesh in Jesus of Nazareth . God the son , walked this earth , live a sinless life, became sin for us in the cross , died and rose again so that we might be reconciled. He is our stronghold in storms , our joy ,our contentment , our anchor. He cannot be moved . He is the same yesterday ,today and forever.
The Jello "god" may make you feel good but when life assails you , when death claims you , you will be found wanting . The God of the Holy Bible is not one to be bent or shaped into what we want . God does not negotiate , His terms are final .
I will leave you with this amazing piece or writing form the Westminster Confession of Faith written in 1646 about God . Using scripture , this is the one true God . I hope and pray this is the God you fall on your knees and worship.

There is but one only, living, and true God, who is infinite in being and perfection, a most pure spirit, invisible, without body, parts, or passions; immutable, immense, eternal, incomprehensible, almighty, most wise, most holy, most free, most absolute; working all things according to the counsel of His own immutable and most righteous will, for His own glory; most loving, gracious, merciful, long-suffering, abundant in goodness and truth, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin; the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him; and withal, most just, and terrible in His judgments, hating all sin, and who will by no means clear the guilty.

God hath all life, glory, goodness, blessedness, in and of Himself; and is alone in and unto Himself all-sufficient, not standing in need of any creatures which He hath made, nor deriving any glory from them, but only manifesting His own glory in, by, unto, and upon them. He is the alone fountain of all being, of whom, through whom, and to whom are all things and hath most sovereign dominion over them, to do by them, for them, or upon them whatsoever Himself pleaseth. In His sight all things are open and manifest, His knowledge is infinite, infallible, and independent upon the creature, so as nothing is to Him contingent, or uncertain. He is most holy in all His counsels, in all His works, and in all His commands. To Him is due from angels and men, and every other creature, whatsoever worship, service, or obedience He is pleased to require of them.
3. In the unity of the Godhead there be three persons, of one substance, power, and eternity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost: the Father is of none, neither begotten, not proceeding; the Son is eternally begotten of the Father; the Holy Ghost eternally proceeding from the Father and the Son.
